2. Three Postdoctoral Positions in Cosmology/large-scale structure at CEA Saclay / DAp
—————————————————————————————-
Three postdoctoral positions are available at the Department of Astrophysics at CEA Paris-Saclay :
- Field-level inference of weak lensing (2+1 years). As part of the ERC-funded OCAPi project, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Natalia Porqueres to develop field-level inference for cosmic shear and apply it to Euclid’s weak lensing data. More details about the position and project can be found at here.
- Zoom-in hydro cosmo simulations with RAMSES (2 years). As part of the ERC-funded COLIBRI project, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Sandrine Codis and Yohan Dubois to develop hydro simulations in cosmological volumes and postprocessing tools. More details about the position and project can be found here.
- Probabilistic & Differentiable Programming for Cosmology (2 years). As part of the ANR-funded AstroDeep project, the postdoctoral researcher will work closely with Dr. Francois Lanusse to develop differentiable and probabilistic modeling frameworks for cosmological inference with imaging surveys, from pixels to cosmology, and apply them to LSST Rubin. More details about the position and project can be found here.
Application instructions: Applicants should submit (1) a CV (max 2 pages), (2) a publication list, (3) a research statement including a short summary of past research, and statement of research interests (4 pages max, excluding references). These should be sent to the email address corresponding to the position applied for:
- natalia.porqueresirosa@cea.fr (Field-level inference of weak lensing)
- sandrine.codis@cnrs.fr (Zoom-in hydro cosmo simulations)
- francois.lanusse@cnrs.fr (Probabilistic & Differentiable Programming for Cosmology)
In addition, 2 to 3 letters of recommendation should be sent directly to the same email address. Early applications are encouraged. For full consideration, materials should be received by 15 December 2025. Informal inquiries about the position are welcome. See also https://aas.org/jobregister/ad/a2e802f5.

3. Conference: “Progress on Old and New Themes in cosmology – PONT 2026”, 27— 30 April 2026, Popes’ Palace in Avignon (France)
—————————————————————————————-
We would like to bring to your attention the seventh edition of the international conference : “Progress on Old and New Themes in cosmology – PONT 2026” (https://indico.cern.ch/e/PONT2026)
to be held in the rooms of the Popes’ Palace in Avignon (France) on 27-30 April 2026.
The aim of the conference is to gather scientists working in cosmology and particle physics to address the cardinal issues of the dark universe today, in the inspiring and monumental setting of Avignon. The format will consist of a limited number of talks by leading experts in the field, with the aim of encouraging debate and discussion. Typically, each morning will be devoted to a particular theme, with three or four key-speakers reviewing the state of the art, and will serve as an introduction to the topical discussions. There will be time allocated to (we hope) lively and thorough debates on the issues introduced during the review sessions.
A limited number of shorter contributed talks will take place in the afternoons as well: we invite you to submit an abstract for your contribution. The abstract submission deadline is the 14th of March.
The registration deadline is the 5th of April 2026. There might be a moderate registration fee (precise amount to be decided, pending funding requests, but in any case no higher than 100 Euros).
Avignon is only 2.5 hours from Paris by high-speed TGV train and is also easily reached by train from Lyon and Marseille.
The town boasts an exceptional number of historical monuments, including the Popes’ Palace, and beautiful surroundings which are known world-wide for their gastronomic and wine making tradition. A banquet is included in the registration fee for all participants.
Looking forward to meeting you in Avignon! Please encourage all your collaborators to join us.
