1. Postdoctoral positions in Extragalactic Astronomy at the CEA Paris-Saclay and at the Côte d’Azur Observatory
—————————————————————————————-
Applications are invited for two postdoctoral positions in extragalactic astronomy, one at the CEA Paris-Saclay and one at the Lagrange Laboratory of the Côte d’Azur Observatory in Nice, funded by the French Agence Nationale de la Recherche through the CIGALE-2D project.
The successful candidates will lead the development of 2D extensions of the CIGALE SED modeling code, turning it into a morpho-SED tool designed to unravel the structural properties of high-redshift galaxies. The fellows at the CEA Paris-Saclay and at the Lagrange Laboratory will then work together on obtaining the first comprehensive census of stellar and star-forming morphologies of galaxies over the past 10 Gyr, and their morphological transformation. The successful candidates will work with Dr. Benjamin Magnelli (CEA) and Prof. Médéric Boquien (Lagrange), in collaboration with the CIGALE-2D team, which unites 12 researchers across four French astrophysics institutes.
Applicants should send a single PDF file by Nov. 16, 2025, to benjamin.magnelli@cea.frand mederic.boquien@oca.eu, including: a cover letter, a CV with a publication list, a statement of research experience (~2 pages), a statement of future research plans (~2 pages), and indicate if they are interested in both positions at CEA Paris-Saclay and Lagrange. Candidates must arrange for two reference letters to be sent independently to the same addresses by the application deadline.

2. Workshop : “Working with Euclid Q1: From Data Access to Science”, 1-3 December, 2025, ESAC (Spain)
—————————————————————————————-
We are pleased to announce that the European Space Astronomy Centre (ESAC), the Spanish site of the European Space Agency (ESA), will host the Working with Euclid Q1: From Data Access to Science Workshop from Monday 1 December to Wednesday 3 December 2025.
Workshop webpage: https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/working-with-euclid-q1/home
This workshop will focus on the Euclid Q1 data release, which provides over 63 square degrees of high-resolution sky imaging tailored for non-cosmological research. The dataset has already enabled exciting scientific discoveries, including studies on galaxy morphology, AGN identification, and strong gravitational lensing.
Workshop Goals
This event will bring together researchers with and without prior experience using Euclid data to:
Showcase new scientific results based on Euclid Q1 data.
Explore new research opportunities using Euclid data.
Learn how to work with Euclid Q1 using the Euclid Data Space portal, the Euclid Archives, ESASky and ESA Datalabs science platform.
Important Dates
Abstract submission opens: 12 September 2025
Abstract submission deadline: 12 October 2025
Notification of acceptance & programme: 24 October 2025
Registration deadline: 9 November 2025
Workshop dates: 1-3 December 2025
We welcome scientists who are interested in exploring Euclid data and its synergies with other experiments, as well as those engaging with Euclid data for the first time.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge, and we will provide complimentary coffee breaks and transfer between Madrid Moncloa and ESAC every day of the event. The workshop is planned as a hybrid event, allowing for remote participation. In-person attendance is encouraged, especially due to the hands-on components of the programme.
Due to limited room capacity, we strongly encourage in-person participants to register as soon as possible. We will confirm the registrations for those participating in-person promptly and no later than 11 November.
